Rallies

For the first rally of the Mock Election, the Democratic Party struggled some.

The school was biased and they would only root for George W. Bush.  People of the Democratic Party tried their hardest to get the school to agree with them.

It was very hard being the party to present their rally after the Republican Party had just thrown theirs.  The Republicans threw out candy, so in the next rally, we tried their way of approach.

For the second rally of the Mock Election, the Democratic Party did better than the first time around.

The school actually listened to the Democrats and rooted for both sides fairly.  We also threw out candy like the Republicans did, but we also made it as a game.  We had two pairs of candy that had a John Kerry wrapper on them.  If a person in the audience got two wrappers of the same, they got a big candy bar. Even though we did do the same thing that the Republicans did, we made the candy giving our own, no matter what the Republicans say.

In the third rally, it was like the second one.  The school was not biased, they cheered fairly, and we passed out candy.  The only thing that was different was that hardly any eighth graders showed up.  It seemed like the auditorium was empty.

Result Rally

Each state had a state representative that read the results for that state and facts.  The 7th and 8th grade homerooms were split up by states.  The rally took place in the gym for almost 2 hours.

The result rally was very disappointing. Besides the fact that the democrats only won seven states, the students were very rude during the National Anthem, and the students were disrespectful during the result readings.  You could not hear a single thing in there.  Everyone was talking very loudly because, from my perspective, they were anxious to hear who had won.
