Abortion
Abortion is when the doctor kills a baby that is still in the woman.
President George Bush thinks that such killing is inhumane and wrong.
His only exceptions are cases of rape and in cases when giving birth
would kill the mother. President Bush says their are other ways
to get rid of unwanted babies. One such way is adoption.
The percentage of infertility is going up, so more people will be
looking to adopt children. In Bush's opinion there is always an
alternative to killing innocent premature babies. Kerry on the
other hand, believes abortion should be the decision of the expectant
mother. Kerry also believes that the unborn baby is not a real
person.
Education
President Bush believes that education is the key opportunity and
America's best tool in a increasingly competitive global economy.
This means that every child deserves a world-class education and every
worker deserves the support of a government that makes a lifetime of
learning a top priority. President Bush is continuing his
efforts to improve early childhood education through the Healthy Start
and Grow Smart programs including his proposal to strengthen Head
Start. The President will strengthen Head Start by: promote
literary, continue to funding research, expand the Reach Out and Read
program, expand Healthy Start, Grow Smart, engage faith and community
based organizations, and increase minority outreach.
Death Penalty
President George W. Bush strongly favors the death penalty. He
believes that this extreme penalty upholds the law. President
Bush says we should think of the victims and their families.
Also, he believes it will save lives. You don't want a serial
murderer having the possibility of escaping and killing more people.
As governor of Texas, President George Bush as approved 152 death
penalties. He is confident that none of the 152 executed were
innocent. Should Kerry be elected he would be "the most
anti-death penalty elected in the modern era."

Economy
Since 2001USDA's rural economic development programs have created or
saved more than 500,000 jobs. President Bush has committed over
$36 billion in development investments in the last three years.
This money has helped Americans pursue economic opportunities and have
an improved quality of life. If President Bush is re-elected, he
will invest in business development. Also, he will pass Energy
Legislation, which would increase U.S. net farm income by an estimated
$2 billion to $4billion per year by 2012. He will enhance
Information Technology (IT), which will provide $14million to support
information technology needs, including enhancing Rural Utilities loan
servicing systems, and $10 million to begin improving IT Systems to
manage domestic commodity orders, purchases, and delivery.
Finally, he will increase home ownership, which will extend loan to
provide home ownership opportunities to 42,800 rural families across
America.
Welfare Reform
Between 1965 and
1995, federal and state spending on poor and low income families
increased from around $40 billion to more than $350 billion a year.
Since 1996, welfare case loads dropped by more than half. Today,
5.4 million fewer people live in poverty than in 1996, including 2.6
million fewer children. Child poverty for African American
children is at its lowest level ever. Many families
understandably report financial difficulties in their lives after
welfare. Yet, a minority states that their lives are better.
Many are learning it is more than rewarding to be a responsible
citizen than a welfare client; it is better to be a bread-winner
respected by your family. Later this year, the 1996 welfare law
must be reauthorized by the U.S. Congress. President Bush
has proposed spending more than $17 billion a year on welfare for
years 2003 to 2007. The budget George W. Bush has submitted will
continue to maintain historically high levels of childcare funding.
Health Care
President George W.
Bush thinks that all Americans should have access to affordable,
quality health care. President Bush has established new,
tax-free Health Savings Account which allows Americans to own and
control their own health care. He has opened or expanded
community and rural health centers with the goal of serving and
additional 6.1 million people who live in underserved and rural areas.
The President has granted waivers and flexibility to states to extend
eligibility under Medicaid and the State Children's Insurance Program
to an estimated 2.6 million low-income Americans. Also, he has
implemented a new rule to lower drug cost for millions of Americans by
strengthening competition between generic and brand-name drugs, saving
American consumers more than $35 billion in drug cost over the next
ten years. President George W. Bush has created a Medicare
Prescription Drug Benefit to help senior citizens pay for their
medicines.

Environment
During President
George W. Bush's term, the air has become clearer, our water purer,
and we have reversed the net loss of wetlands. Also, Americas
parks are better managed, better funded, and better protection.
In his second term, Bush will work to reduce the amount of sulfur
dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and mercury, which is being sent out in the
air by power plants, by seventy percent. Also, he will help the
states meet together new air quality standards. President George
W. Bush will complete the Clean Air Interstate Rule, which will
require the largest emissions cut in ten years. Bush is the
first President to propose caps on mercury emissions. This will
cut mercury emissions by seventy percent. This rule will improve
public health and protect children and pregnant women. In his
second term, President Bush will aggressively form programs that will
dedicate a record $40 Billion to restore Millions of acres of
wetlands, protect habitats, conserve water, and improve streams and
rivers near working farms and ranches.
War in Iraq
President George W.
Bush made the tough decision on the war in Iraq. George W. Bush
has a temporary worker plan that's honest and open will be good for
this economy. It will also be good for the security of the
country. We've got a lot of border patrol agents working hard to stop
the flow of illegal immigrates thanks to President Bush. He
believes that if we make the system open and honest, it will help stop
the flow of illegal immigrates. George W. Bush is going to
submit a budget to Congress next month, which will include spending
$30 billion for homeland secruity. Thanks to George W. Bush
two-thirds of known al Qaeda leaders have been captured or killed.
Terrorism
President George W.
Bush has put the world on notice that we will hold any person or
regime that supports terrorists as guilty of terrorism as the
terrorists themselves. He believes that America should not wait
for new threats to grow and grow. He has already liberated fifty
million people from totalitarian regimes in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The terrorist camps in Afghanistan have been destroyed. The men
and women of our armed forces have brought Saddam Hussein, a declared
enemy of America, to justice. A supporter of terrorism who had
the capability and a proven willingness to produce and use weapon of
mass destruction. The brutal regime of Saddam Hussein is gone.
A united temporary government is leading the Iraqi people to freedom.

Foreign Aid/Trade
George Bush asked
Congress for $100 million to provide no-collateral loans to the poor.
George Bush will hire more border patrol agents and reform the
Immigration an Naturalization Service to crack downs on illegal
immigration and drug trafficking. George Bush believes we ought
to enforce our borders. George Bush will work and have a good,
long-term relationship with LatinAmerican Governments to lift barriers
over regulation that prevent the poor from creating businesses.
George Bush will have more trade with India to help out in East Timor.
Immigration
George W. Bush
endorses the "demographic revolution" that Bill Clinton said he hoped
would end "European culture" in America. The GOP presidential
hopeful went on to call for a lifting of the legal limits on
immigration. Bush thinks that we ought to increase legal
immigration. Bush said advocates of immigration reform represent
the "xenophobic dark side of American" and described them as "folk's
who want to isolate America". The strategy also means the GOP
will drop any pretense of opposition to affirmative action for
immigrants and will now openly oppose English as official Language
legislation.
Gun Control
There has been three
school shootings on the first two months of bush's office. These
killed two students and wounded twenty people. Politicians have
insisted that they happened because of the availability of guns.
President George W. Bush believes it is the values behind the
shootings that caused them. He treats them as if a bullet wasn't
shot. If we got rid of guns, the violence would come out another
way, such as knives and punching. Plus, guns and ammunitions are
flying off the shelves, as people try to defend themselves. Bush
believes that we shouldn't take away that sense of safety after the
tragedy of September 11. Also, we need the money we are getting
from gun sales to get our economy back on its feet.
