Teacher of the Month

Mr. Reid
Q. How does it feel to be teacher of the month?
A. It is an honor. I've been around the same great teaching staff for years. I both
respect and
admire them. It is the ultimate compliment to be chosen over them.
Q. What do you think about our idea for teacher of the month?
A. It is a wonderful thing you guys are doing and I applaud your efforts.
Q. How long have you been teaching at HJS?
A. For thirteen wonderful years.
Q. How has HJS changed over the thirteen years you've been here?
A. I think that the community and the community values haven't changed a
great deal. I love that this school is the center of the community. For the
most part, the young people in Harrison are everyone's #1 priority. So, of course,
that hasn't changed since I got here. I think what has changed is me. I think
with time, experience, trial and error, that we've improved in classroom and
overall impact on young people. What hasn't changed is Mr. Jostworth; he still
looks like he did thirteen years ago. Mr. Sowders was in high school then;
now he looks older than me. This is a scientific impossibility, but now, Ms. Shaw,
she looks better.
Q. What do you think of the school newspaper, Wildcat Tales?
A. I think the newspaper is a great idea I also think that the staff is lucky to be
led by such a kind and caring person as Mrs. Dissett. It's a learning experience
for young people, and it empowers them through the written word.
Q. Do you do anything besides teach here?
A. Yes, I coach 8th grade football, and I'm a volunteer for wrestling.
Also I would like to thank the news- paper staff, and again I am honored
to be December's teacher of the month. Keep up the good work!
