Mr. Sams' 4th Quarter Web Page Project

From April 2nd to May 11th

This quarter we are doing a very big project over chapters 24 through 29. It will be a 3 stage project.

First: Reading Chapters 24 to 29, completing necessary bookwork and worksheets. This will be assigned as the project is underway.

Second: A Web Research Project about the Middle Ages
(This is found at http://www.southwestschools.org/jsmed.htm) This part can be written/typed or e-mailed to Mr. Sams. It has 6 different lesson parts that each need completed for full credit.

Third: Development of a Web page about a topic from Ch. 24 to 29. This page will only receive an "A" if it is of good enough quality for Mr. Sams to post it to the www.southwestschools.org Web site. Students will be able to use various programs to create Web pages, among them FrontPage and PowerPoint. Assistance will be given as necessary.

This will be a lengthy project in which it will be necessary for Mr. Sams' students to stay focused and be responsible. Any student that proves to be incapable of using computers will be required to complete a 10 page written research paper instead of using the Internet/computers to do research and make their Web page.

There will be project checks along the way. Students will be expected to keep track of their research and work. Work can be accomplished at home but students are still responsible for accomplishing work during classtime. This project will be worth a large portion of the 4th quarter grade since it will last over half of the quarter.
