2005 End-of-School Newspaper

Well, the end of the year is very near for all of us here at Harrison Junior School. This final edition of the newspaper for the year has asked students about their summer plans and other information that they can share about their hopes and dreams. This year has been a big one here at HJS. In the Fall, the mock election was a big event and we had a successful magazine sale and cool BMX bike show. We had an easy winter with hardly any delays or days off.  February led us right into some “fun” Achievement Tests (ha-ha) and a wonderful Spring Break. There was a great Honor Society Induction followed by a huge 8th Grade trip to Washington DC. We still have a few big events here at the end of the year so do not miss them! Best of luck to all and have a great summer!

Mr. Sams, Editor

Mr. Meeks

We also would like to wish Mr. Dan Meeks all the best as he “moves” on to teach at Lima Shawnee to be with his wife. Mr. Meeks has spent the better part of 27 years helping Harrison youth become the finest musicians possible. His bands have performed all across the state of Ohio, at national contests, at Disneyworld, and anywhere else they were invited. Their mature level of play must be attributed to the extremely qualified leadership of Mr. Meeks. He will be missed by Harrison more than he will ever know. We wish him all the best. He has been a dear friend and mentor to many of us here, past and present, and he will leave behind a wonderful legacy.
