Electoral College System

The electoral college system is when people select who they want for president through representatives and senates.  This is how it works.  Each state has 2 senators and at least one representative.   The senators and representatives vote for one of the candidates.  The person with the most votes win all the electoral votes of that state.  The other candidate gets no votes even if they were on vote less that the other candidate.  Many people don't like the electoral college system  because it distorts some results.  Many now say," My vote doesn't count."

These are some of the States with the largest amounts of electoral votes.

California: 54

Texas: 32

Florida:  25

Ohio: 21

Pennsylvania: 23

New York: 33

New Jersey:  15

Maryland: 10

Georgia:  13

Missouri:  11

These are all the states that you would want to win if you were running for president.  You probably need a few more to get the Full 274 votes to win.
