Junior School Kiwanis Essay Winners

Essay contest winners, Monica Bahner, Cody Haag, Amanda Harper, Sarah King, Jonathan Presley, Rachel Rist, and Monica Schmitt, were honored guests of the Harrison Kiwanis Club at their meeting on April 18, 2002.  After the luncheon, the students were awarded a savings bond for their writings on “Hero.”  Several writers focused on the heroes of September 11; others wrote of personal heroes.  There’s a chance that each of us is a hero when we treat others with respect and offer help and care.
