Washington D.C. Trip 2005
Mr. Sowders reports at 10:20
PM Friday: "Today we were on the road at 6:15
for breakfast. Went to the White House and had a great tour. We then went to
Ford's Theater and enjoyed a presentation given by the National Park Service
about the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln by John Wilkes Booth. We
ate at the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center. We then started our tours
of the monuments. Korean War Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial,
Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial, Iwo Jima Memorial and Albert Einstein
Memorial. We spent several hours at the Pentagon City Mall (all the shoppers
really enjoyed themselves, I hope you did not send too much money with your
child, if you did it is gone!)

Mr. Sowders reports at 10:20
PM Thursday: "Today was a great day. We
went to the Capitol building and toured everything. Congressman Chabot
gave us a great tour. We visited the WWII Memorial. We went to Arlington
Cemetery. We saw the changing of the guard and laid the wreath at the Tomb
of the Unknown Soldier. Went to Robert E. Lee Mansion. Visited the
Eternal Flame (JFK). We got our picture taken in front of the Capitol
building. Went to the Air and Space Museum. And we got to go through
the Holocaust Museum. Got a few showers, but we were inside most of the time it
was raining."
Mr. Sowders, 12:44 AM Thursday: "Everything has
gone great. The flight was good, no problems. Everyone is checked
into their rooms. We head out to tour early tomorrow morning."
