SPELLING

          This week we are working with the short sound of /o/ with singular and plural nouns.  Our words are:

job               jobs             dog             dogs           log              logs            this             into             rock            frog

Since we are short one day this school week your child may need a bit more practice time at home to master these words.

SIGHT WORDS

          Our sight words for the week are:

by               eat              sing            stop            them

NO SCHOOL

          We will not have school tomorrow in observance of Veterans’ Day.  We talked this morning about the meaning of this holiday and we practiced some patriotic songs with the school in the gym.  We had a special guest~ a U.S. Marine come to visit.  Thank you to all of our Veterans who fight to protect our freedom!

CONFERENCES

          Our last round of parent conferences is this evening.  If you cannot make your scheduled time please call the school to let me know.  Thanks!

EGG CARTONS

          We have read about different cultures around the world and some of the games that they play in different areas of the world.  We read about the game Mancala and would like to make this game at school.  Please send in any empty egg cartons that you may have.  Thanks!
