Dear Parents and Friends of Harrison Elementary:

 

Harrison Elementary PTA would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 2008-2009 school year.   We invite you to join our organization in support of our children, and encourage you to participate in our programs and general meetings.  Our annual membership enrollment is now in progress and we need you.  When you join you automatically become a member of the Ohio and National PTA organizations.  When you join the PTA, you join with 6 million other Americans to promote child welfare and education, which is one of the largest organizations that works on behalf of children.

 

PTA is an association that centers its whole interest on the well being and education of all

children.  We invite you to become involved in your child’s learning and growth.  We welcome

your participation and will provide you with “tools” to improve your child’s education.  Your

participation shows your child and their teacher that you are behind them 100%.  Over the

years we have seen that children learn more and have better lives when their parents,

teachers and the community work together with the students.  The PTA helps to unite all these

groups together to encourage and promote activities that benefit our children.  Our PTA

sponsors many programs and activities, such as:

  • Reflections Contest for Creative Arts
  • Grandparent’s Day
  • Teacher Appreciation Activities
  • 6th Grade Celebration
  • Accelerated Reader Store
  • Scholastic Book Fair in Spring

 

  • Family Programs at General Meetings
  • Dance/Baton and Karate
  • P.R.I.D.E. tee-shirts
  • Classroom gifts for every teacher
  • Banking Programs to encourage saving
  • Maintenance of Courtyard
  • Coordinates Library and Clinic Volunteers

 

I invite you to show support by not only becoming a member but spending some time volunteering as well.  The Three4Me volunteer program, which has been in effect for several years, helps to bring the parents and our PTA programs together.
