State Track and Field Pics - 2009
Two of our athletes advanced to the
State Track and Field Meet this year. Annie Robben
competed on the pole vault mat in front of a huge crowd inside
the stadium while at the same time Brittany Wilson-Farley was
outside the stadium in the shot put circle. Here are
some pics of the action...

Annie prepares to run during
warm-ups at
the State Meet.

Annie completes a pop-up as part of
her warm ups.

Soaring through the air.....

....and finishing the turn.

Annie and Coach Menze
discuss technique
before the start of the
competition.

Annie and
her fellow competitors wait for
instructions from the officials before the
competition.

Annie gathers her thoughts
(and fixes her hair) just
before her 1st attempt at
10' at State.

Annie begins her approach run to
the box...

...and swings up to the
bar...

...and clears
it. Annie would go on to clear
10'6" and finish
11th at the meet.
Meanwhile, at the shot
put.....

Brittany Wilson-Farley
launches the shot during
the preliminary rounds.

Brittany and Coach Zuleger watch
the other
competitors and discuss strategy
between
throws.

Brittany watches her 3rd
throw. This
would be a massive one!
45' 5"! Her best
ever at the biggest meet of
the year, a new
school record, and would
eventually win
the title!

Brittany reacts after hearing the
measurement of her 3rd throw!

Coach Zuleger congratulates
Brittany after
her 3rd throw. Both
knew that it would
not be touched by the other
competitors.

Once into the finals, Brittany
relaxed and
proceded to launch 3 more bombs.
This one
was 42' 3".....

....the next was 44' 8"....

...and the final one for good
measure was 44'5". Brittany wins State in dominating
fashion!

Brittany's cheering section:
Chris Littleton
Bobby Sherman, Coach
Motsinger, Coach
Kucera, Annie Robben, Coach
Menze,
Coach Light, Alecia
Littleton, and Dad Herb
Farley.

Congratulations from one State
Champ
to another.....Chris Littleton
gives
Brittany a big hug.

More congratulations from
Coach Menze,
Coach Motsinger, and coming
down the
hill, Coach Light.

Annie Robben gets her turn along
with
Bobby Sherman and throwing partner
Alecia Littleton.

Brittany's winning mark of
45'5" dominates
the competition by nearly
2.5' and is the
#1 mark in all of Ohio.
Four of her throws
would have won the meet!

Inside of Jesse Owens Stadium,
Brittany stands on top of the
podium
and gets her 1st place medal.
