Standout Athletes
Female Athletes

Jennifer Kraus (Callihan) - 1981 - Jennifer was the first female athlete to qualify for State competition. She was a conference champion in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 400 meter relay three consective years. She was a State qualifier in the 100 meter dash for 2 years.

Julie Bernecker (Nolan) - 1986 - She set 3 school records and currently holds two of them.  Julie teaches at Harrison and was the girl's head coach during the 1990's.

Karen Grimm (McGrinder) - 1987 - Karen was the first female athlete in school history to make All Cincinnati. Karen was named MVP in 1985,86, & 87. In 1986 and 1987, Karen was the Conference Athlete of the Year. She still holds 5 school records.

Miranda Back - 1997 - Miranda placed third at State in the long jump in 1997 and currently holds the school record in that event.

Amy Mobley - 1999 - Amy qualified for the State meet three times and holds  school records in the shot put and discus.
Donna Castelli - 2006 - Donna was a two time Wilson A. Law team MVP and held 3 school records.  She can lay legitimate claim to being the fastest female athlete in the history of Harrison High School.

Brittany Wilson-Farley - 2009 - Brittany nearly packed an entire career into her brief time at Harrison.  After transferring to the district during her senior year, Brittany won the 2009 Division I State Championship in the shot put by over 2 feet.  Her State Meet performance was the best in all divisions.  Brittany's personal best of 45' 5" shattered the Harrison school record and is also the 2nd best mark in the history of Cincinnati track and field.   Her other senior season accomplishments include the OATCCC State Indoor Championship in the shot put, FAVC Field Athlete of the Year, destroying the FAVC meet record in the shot put, the Wilson A. Law Team MVP, District Championships in both the shot put and discus, and a Regional Championship in the shot put.

Brittany Hall - 2010 - Brittany won the team's Most Valuable Sprinter award on 3 separate occasions during her high school career.  She was the FAVC champion in the 100m Dash as a freshman, anchored the 4x400m Relay team to a District Championship and qualified to the Regional Meet on 3 occasions (200 and 400m dashes and 4x400m Relay).  Brittany leaves Harrison owning 5 school records (200m dash and 4 relays:  4x200, 4x400, Sprint Medley, 1600m Medley) which is the second most in the school's history.

Annie Robben - 2010 - Annie proved herself to be one of the best all-around athletes to put on a Harrison uniform as she put together a career that is difficult to match.  She was a 3-time Wilson A. Law Team MVP, 2-time Most Valuable Field Event Athlete, 3-time FAVC Champion in the pole vault, 3 time District Champion (vault, 4x400m relay),  District record holder (vault), 5-time Regional qualifier, a Regional Champion, and a 2-time State qualifier.  During her senior year, Annie put together perhaps the best season ever for a Harrison track athlete as she accumulated 240 points while competing in the vault, shot put, hurdles, and sprint relays, broke 6 school records (pole vault, 300m hurdles, and 4 relays:  4x200, 4x400, Sprint Medley, 1600m Medley), was District Champion in the pole vault and 4x400m Relay, qualified to Regionals in 3 events, and was Regional Champion in the pole vault.  Annie's 6 school records are the most for any athlete in the school's history and her mark of 11'0" in the pole vault is 4th best in the history of Cincinnati track and field.

Emily Adams - 2011 - Emily is one of only 4 Harrison track athletes to hold 5 school records at once.  During her junior year, she was part of 4 record breaking relays (4x200, 4x400, Sprint Medley, 1600m Medley), was a District Champion in the 4x400m relay and a District Runner-up in the 400m dash.  During her senior season, Emily established herself as one of the elite 400m sprinters in the city.  She broke the school record in the 400m dash, was named FAVC Runner of the Year as she won the 200 and 400m dashes at the league meet, and was once again District Runner-up in the 400m dash.  Over her career she qualified for Regionals on 3 occasions, was named the Wilson A. Law Team MVP, and also won the Most Valuable Sprinter award.  Emily earned a track scholarship to Ohio University.

Male Athletes

Tex Stout - 1954 - Tex went to the State finals in the 440 yard dash. He held 12 consecutive victories in the 440 yard dash from 1953-1954. Tex held the school record for 18 years before it was broken.
Jim Kater - 1954 - Jim held school records in the long jump and the high jump for many years.
Don Morris - 1967 - He set the school's shot put record in 1963 and the discus in 1966.  The shot put record stood for over 30 years, until his son Brady Morris broke it in 1999.  He was a two time District qualifier in both the shot put and discus.
Jerry Dean - 1972 - Jerry placed second at the State meet in the long jump with a jump of 21'10".  He also holds 3 school records.
Paul Nolan - 1979 - Paul placed second by just a few inches at the State meet in 1979 in the 800 meter dash.  Paul is a teacher at Harrison and was coach during some of the most successful years of the track & field program.
Steve Barnes - 1986 - Steve held the school record in the 1600 meters for 10 years, but at the collegiate level  was the All Ohio 1,000 meter Indoor Champion while competing at The Ohio State University in cross country and track and field.  Steve teaches at Harrison and coached Ernie Ziegler to his state championships in the 1990's.
Ernie Ziegler - 1997 - Ernie is the most decorated athlete in the history of the high school.  He was the State Champion in the 3200 meter run in 1996 and 1997.  He also won the State Cross Country Championship in 1997.  He is 1 of only 7 people/teams from Harrison to win a state championship and the only athlete to do it more than once.   Ernie holds 6 school records and  was named Conference Athlete of the Year in 1997. He earned an athletic scholarship to Miami University.
Brady Morris 1999 - Brady placed second at the State meet in 1998 in the shot put. He was a two time qualifier at State. Brady broke his father's school record that stood for over 30 years.  He earned a track athletic scholarship to the University of Cincinnati.
Ryan Flynn - 2004 - Ryan placed fourth at the State meet in 2004 in the shot put. He was named FAVC Most Valuable Field Events performer in 2004, was a two time winner of the Wilson A. Law team MVP award, and currently holds the school record in the shot put. Ryan earned a track athletic scholarship to the University of Cincinnati.
Curt Weidner - 2006 - Curt was the first hurdler from Harrison to ever qualify for the State meet and only the second sprinter (first in over 50 years) to accomplish that feat.  On his way to State, Curt established the school record in the 110 meter hurdles and was the FAVC and District Champion in both hurdle events.
Chris Littleton - 2007- Chris leaves Harrison as one of the most accomplished athletes in the school's history.  Chris was the 2007 Division I State Champion in the discus where he recorded the 2nd best discus mark in Cincinnati history.  He was also the Cincinnati Enquirer track athlete of the year.  During his junior year, Chris placed 8th in both the shot put and the discus at the State meet.  He is the only male track athlete to ever qualify for the State meet 3 straight years.  Overall, Chris qualified for state 5 times, was a 7 time Regional qualifier, a 2 time District champion, earned the FAVC Most Valuable Field Events Performer twice, was the winner of the Wilson A. Law team MVP award for three years, and currently holds the school and FAVC discus record.
