Harrison's latest National Merit Semifinalists!

Southwest Local School District Students Achieve National Merit Status
Ben Wilder and Sara Swartout, both seniors at William
Henry Harrison High School, have been named National Merit
Semifinalists. This is an honor that allows them to advance to National
Merit Finalist status and opens the door to scholarship offers.
Sara is the daughter of Jeff and Linda Swartout and Ben is the son of
Mark and Diane Wilder.
Senior Julie Warders has also achieved “Commended
Student” status of the National Merit Scholarship Program. Julie the
daughter of Glenn and Mary Warders.
About 230 Greater Cincinnati high school seniors are among the 16,000
semifinalists in the 55th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
More than 1.5 million juniors in 22,000 high schools
entered the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2008
Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
Sara and Ben scored better than 99 percent of all the Ohio students who
took the PSAT test in their junior year.
Nationally, the semifinalists represent less than 1 percent of high
school seniors.
