The Southwest Local School District is located in the western part of Hamilton County. It encompasses Harrison, Harrison Township, Crosby Township, Whitewater Township and a small portion of Morgan Township (Butler County). There are six elementary buildings, a junior high and a high school. Crosby Elementary serves portions of northern Harrison Township, northern Crosby Township and Morgan Township. Miamitown Elementary serves parts of southern Crosby Township, eastern Whitewater Township and Miamitown. Hooven/Elizabethtown serves  the southern and eastern portion of the district in Whitewater Township and the areas of Hooven and Elizabethtown. Whitewater Valley serves the southern part of Harrison Township. Harrison Elementary serves the City of Harrison.
