I
want to welcome you to kindergarten. I will be your kindergarten teacher and I
know we will have a great time learning and having fun. You will make new
friends and begin to learn how to read and write. I can not wait to meet you and
your family.
You
and your parents will have a busy beginning of kindergarten. It will start with
Kindergarten Screening on Monday, August 18th. (Make up date
for newly registered students will be Tuesday, August 26th.)
Open
House will be on Thursday, August 21st at 7:00 PM. After a
short PTA meeting We will meet in my classroom Once we have met and you have
explored the classroom, you and your family to the cafeteria for an ice cream
treat!!
The
next big day for you and your parents is the Kindergarten Orientation on Monday,
August 25th. The Afternoon Class orientation is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
Your parent/parents and you need to attend to fill out paperwork and find out
important information about your kindergarten program and your transportation to
and from school.
Your
first day of kindergarten will be either Wednesday, August 27th or Thursday,
August 28th depending upon when you were scheduled by the school office in a
previous letter. You will only meet half your class at that time. The rest of
the class will be attending on the other day. When you return of Friday,
August 29th you will meet all of your classmates.
I
can’t wait to meet you and your family. Please be sure to come to all of the
activities above so we can get to know each other.

For Your Parents: Moms and dads, please have an idea of how you plan for your child to go home each day, so I can have this information when you leave on Tuesday. Please, do not have your child transported home by a different means daily; this is way too confusing for your child!
Also, have your e-mail address with you, as I frequently send e-mails to the kindergarten parents about reminders of upcoming events through a kindergarten parent contact list. Thanks!
