More Details About Pictures:

Mailboxes- at the end of the day students get their mail and put it in their daily folders.

Mail Basket- mail to be put in mailboxes

Morning Work Basket- students will get their morning work paper from the basket, usually a fact paper.

SMARTboard- interactive whiteboard that is hooked to my computer.  I can touch and manipulate things on the screen and write on the screen with special pens.  The students take turns using the board during lessons.

Flip Cards- our school has a school wide discipline system, each student has a set of cards and they start each day on green, when they get in trouble they flip their card and follow the consequences.  Each student has a class number and the flip cards have their number on them.

Daily Schedule- each day I put up what we are doing for the day.  I made my own scheduling signs on the computer to fit in the pocket chart.

Center Schedule- we do centers usually every Friday, students are in a center group (red, orange, yellow, etc.) and go to 2 center rotations, each rotation lasts about 20 minutes.  I change the center groups periodically.  While students are in centers I am working one on one with students.

Work Table- this table has plastic drawers that have the work that we will be doing for the week, it also has the work file, and a container of supplies that are found.

Work File- each student has a hanging file folder, each Friday this is where they turn in their homework packet.  Sometimes I have them turn in other work also.  This helps to keep all work in number order.

Elmo- this is kind of like a overhead projector, but instead of using an overhead I can put any piece of paper or maniupulative on it and it will show up on the Smartboard.  I can zoom in and out.

My Desk- I wish it always looked this neat :)

Resource Books- bookshelf that has my resource books

Behind My Desk- this is where I keep most of my lesson materials, plan books, science lessons, read aloud books, etc.

Blue Table- this is the table that I do reading groups at, I also do things one on one with students at this table.

Wall of Curtains- the side wall has a long counter where I store a lot of my teacher "stuff."  I was tired of looking at everything, so I hung shower curtain rods with fishing line and hung shower curtains on them.  I hung a line with clothespins to hang student work.

Center Folders- students keep center work in their folder, and periodically I send the work home.

AR Books- during Reading Workshop, I pull reading groups.  Students are reading at their seats and filling out reading graphic organizers.  Students read their reading group book, AR library books, or these AR books.

Center Buckets- ABC, Math, Writing, and Pocket Chart centers have a bucket where the materials are stored.  ABC, Math, and Writing center are done at the students' desks.  Pocket chart center is done on the carpet with the pocket chart.

Listening Center- students listen to books on tape and fill out a listening center form.

Clipboards- this the the tub where we keep the clipboards, students use these during center time while they are on the carpet for listening center or pocket chart center.

Carpet Area- this is where students come during math meeting, while I'm reading a book, or for different lessons.

Math Meeting- every morning we do math meeting, the student of the week is in charge of calling on students and adding things to the math meeting board.  The supplies used on the board are a combination of Saxon Math and Scott Foresman Math, except for a few additional items I've added.

Class Library- these are books that I have purchased or gotten through book order bonus points.  The baskets are just to keep the shelves a little neater.

Slanted Book Shelf- on one side I will have seasonal/holiday books- either my own books or public library books on the other side I have science books to go along with the science unit that we are studying.

Computer Center- we have 4 computers for students to use and I have one computer on my desk that students can use if we need an extra computer.  I have headphones hooked up to each computer to use during centers.

AR Cards and Sign Up- each student has an index card with their log in information, and each time they take a test I record their AR score.  Students sign up on the notepad in the morning, and I call students back to take their quizzes.

AR Sticker Chart- each time they pass an AR test they put a sticker on their chart, when they fill up their chart, they get 5 cat cash to spend at the cat store.

Word Wall- each week we learn 5 new words and I put up the words on the word wall for student to use while they are writing.

Job Chart- each week I change the jobs, each student will have one job at least every other week

Lunch Menu and Lunch Count- each student has a clothespin with their name on it.  In the morning, they put their clothespin on the buying or packing side of the poster.
