EXCELLENT WITH DISTINCTION
The State of Ohio released updated Report
Card Results – Crosby Elementary was upgraded to Excellent
With Distinction! This is the highest rating a school can
receive. On behalf of the Crosby Staff, I would like to thank
the students for their hard work and each of you for your
support!
CONGRATULATIONS!
This past school year Mrs. Maria Beatty was
named as the Crosby Elementary Teacher of the Year. At the
recent Opening Day for the staff of SWLSD, Mrs. Beatty was
recognized as the Southwest Local School District Teacher of the
Year for the 2009-2010 school year. Please join me in
congratulating Mrs. Beatty!
PICTURE DAY
Picture day will be Tuesday, September 14th.
You will need to complete the picture envelope and return it
with the money on picture day. Envelopes were sent home today.
MAGAZINE SALE
The magazine sale ends Friday, September 10th.
Thank for your support of our annual magazine sale. The
profits from the sale will be used to sponsor school wide

PTA MEMBERSHIP
It is not too late to join the Crosby
Elementary PTA. Membership dues are $5.00 per one member of
$9.00 per two members. This is a great organization with a
focus on the children of Crosby Elementary. Please submit you
membership in an envelope to your child’s teacher.
HAM AND TURKEY DINNER
The Annual Ham and Turkey Dinner takes
place Saturday, October 9th from 3:00-7:00pm. Again
this year the PTA is hosting a carnival in the gym. Dinner
prices are: Adult dine-in $8.00, Senior dine-in $7.00, Child
dine-in $5.00 and all carryout dinners $8.00.
MEDICATIONS
Children cannot bring medicine to school.
If your child will be taking any type of medication at school,
please bring it to the office and fill out a form to give
permission to administer the medication to your child. This
includes Tylenol, cough drops, creams, prescriptions, etc. All
medicine must be in the original container of prescription
bottle.
DISTRICT INSERVICE DAY
Wednesday, September 29th there
will be NO SCHOOL for students due to a District-wide Teacher
In-service Day.
FIRE LANES
The Harrison Fire Department reminds us to
pay attention to the yellow curbs and fire lane signs around the
schools. They will issue tickets for vehicles parked in the
fire lanes. Let’s work together to keep our students safe.
Thank you for your cooperation.
LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS
Are you interested in volunteering in the
school library? We have a few time slots left on Fridays from
9:30-11. You can volunteer to work once or twice per month. If
interested, please contact Pam Hopkins (738-0057) by Monday,
September 6.
BOXTOPS
FOR EDUCATION
What is
Box Tops? Box Tops for Education is a program sponsored
by General Mills. Each Box Top is worth $.10. Although this may
not sound like much, we received $950. last year from Box Tops –
not bad for something that would otherwise go in the garbage.
How do
I participate? A list of participating products will be
sent home with your child and can also be found at btfe.com.
Clip Box Tops from the product package along the dotted lines.
Put your student’s name on the back. They can deposit them in
the box in the office and be entered to win prizes during Friday
Morning announcements.
